OVERVIEW
The Gloucester Police & District Courthouse project involved comprehensive renovations totaling 30,100 square feet across the existing police station (first and second floors) and the Gloucester District Courthouse (third floor). Exterior upgrades included door and window replacements, masonry restoration, and sealant applications.
On the first floor, renovations focused on enhancing the prisoner intake and processing area, modifying holding cells, and upgrading the fitness area. The second-floor improvements included updates to officer locker rooms, roll call and dispatch areas, the public lobby, and administrative offices.
Additionally, the project featured extensive system upgrades, such as replacing the existing HVAC systems with VRF, upgrading electrical systems (power, fire alarm, BDA, telecommunications, etc.), and installing an emergency generator for backup power.
Located in downtown Gloucester, the facility had minimal laydown space for construction activities.
