W.T. Rich utilizes BIM-based 3-D modeling to conduct MEP coordination on all projects.  We believe there are significant added value and cost savings through the use of BIM.  Early planning during the preconstruction phase includes: 

• Clearly define subcontractor roles, responsibilities, standards and deadlines for the MEP coordination process

• Manage data and information exchange standards

• Provide baseline 3D architectural and structural models to each major trade discipline

• Define and manage the schedule for coordination process

• Schedule and lead regular MEP coordination meetings

• Assemble and integrate contractor developed models

• Run collision detection software

• Lead MEP coordination efforts/meetings to investigate and resolve all conflicts

• Catalog all coordination issues, along with their resolution

• Verify that all agreed-to changes are properly captured in final models

• Conduct regular field visits to verify that installation complies with coordination models
