Excel Bremen Middle School

OVERVIEW

W.T. Rich was hired in May of 2019 to manage the construction of a middle school addition to the existing Excel Academy High School.

Excel Academy Charter School, Bremen Middle School consists of a new 3-story, 19,500 SF building adjacent to the existing High School at 401 Bremen St. The interior space includes student classrooms, a community circle gathering space, break out rooms, administrative offices, a small child’s daycare space for the children of faculty and staff as well as other educational spaces. A portion of the first floor is elevated to allow parking below.

Exterior work includes a new parking lot with a circular loop, new water, gas and sewer services, stormwater management systems, regrading and landscaping. The majority of this construction occurred while the adjacent Excel Academy High School was active. W.T. Rich maintained constant communication with the School during the construction process to ensure safety concerns were met throughout the duration of the project.
