Lawrence Police Headquarters

OVERVIEW

The new Lawrence Police Headquarters provides a modern, mission-critical home for the City of Lawrence's police and public safety operations — bringing all functions together under one roof. Built on a confined, urban infill site adjacent to a residential neighborhood and occupied businesses, the facility was delivered on an accelerated, fast-track schedule that required careful phasing and coordinated logistics to keep the surrounding community safe and operational throughout construction.

Inside, the building houses the full range of modern policing and public safety functions, including administration and support offices, special investigations operations, emergency dispatch services, and a secure physical detention area. A dedicated firing range and advanced technical and simulation training facility give officers a state-of-the-art environment to build and sharpen their skills, while heated and unheated storage, police support, and general building support spaces round out the program. Thoughtfully organized vertical and horizontal circulation ties the public areas and secure operational zones together across all four floors.
