04/103/18 Cabot Elementary School Hosts Topping Off Ceremony

The last steal beam to go on top of the new Cabot Elementary School was hoisted into the air on April 13th, 2018 during a "topping off" ceremony. Prior to completing the construction milestone, Mayor Ruthanne Fuller spoke to the crowd in Newtonville and personally signed the beam. Additionally, future students of Cabot Elementary were invited to the event to sign the beam and take photos to commemorate the achievement.

The $49 million project is expected to be completed by the summer of 2019 and forecasts to increase student capacity from 391 to 480 students.
