09/260/21 W.T. Rich and Community Celebrate Long-Awaited New Beverly Police Station

Beverly Mayor Mike Cahill addressed W.T. Rich and CBRE | Heery representatives, City of Beverly officials, current and former officers, as well as community members on Friday, September 17, to cut the ribbon and celebrate the new Beverly Police Station.

A facility that many have been dreaming about for three decades, W.T. Rich led the construction of the new 32,000 SF state-of-the-art building, which includes a 21st-century security system, advanced technology, a joint police/fire dispatch operations center and an emergency communications system. W.T. Rich also spearheaded the installation of a modern simulation training room on the second floor, an initiative drawn from research on technology-based law enforcement training and its value to officers and the community in real-world scenarios.

Despite its overwhelming success, the W.T. Rich project team was met with its fair share of challenges along the way. Located on Elliott Street in front of the consistently busy Cummings Center, construction of the new station required comprehensive logistical planning to ensure no disruption occurred to commuters, adjacent businesses or residential neighborhoods. The location of Bass River and the existence of undesirable soil conditions also presented obstacles, but W.T. Rich navigated every challenge with experience, professionalism and efficiency.

Understanding the magnitude of the new Beverly Police Station to the current and former officers and the community they protect, W.T. Rich is thrilled to have been selected as the construction manager of this project.
